The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase Five is an American superhero film and television series developed by Marvel Studios and based on characters from Marvel Comics magazines. Beginning in 2023 and continuing through the middle of 2024, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will release all of the films that Marvel Studios has been working on during Phase Five.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Reed is set to return as director by November 2019, with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp. Atlanta, Georgia, and San Francisco, California were also on the list of locations where filming was planned to take place until 2022 Quantumania, featuring both Ant-Man and the Wasp, premiered on February 6, 2023 and was published the following week, on February 17.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

In April 2016,Marvel Studios announced plans for a third Guardians of the Galaxy film, with James Gunn set to return as writer and director the following year. Disney restored Gunn as director in October 2018 after initially dismissing him in July 2018 due to the rediscovery of old, contentious tweets. After Gunn finishes filming The Suicide Squad (2021) and its spin-off series Peacemaker (2019), production will commence. Gunn’s return and the involvement of the five principal stars was announced in early 2019. During the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con in July, Kevin Feige announced the film’s production. Production on the film started in November 2021 at Atlanta’s Trilith Studios and wrapped up in early May 2022. On May 5, 2023, audiences can see the third Guardians of the Galaxy film.
The Marvels (2023)
Feige said at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con that a sequel to Captain Marvel (2019) was in the works, with Megan McDonnell penning the story and Brie Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel by January 2020. Instead of having Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck return from the previous film,the company decided to engage Nia DaCosta to helm the sequel in August of that year. DaCosta also wrote the screenplay for the film along with Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.In December 2020, the film was announced under the title Captain Marvel 2, but in May 2021, the film’s actual title, The Marvels, was made public.Production of the film’s second unit began in mid-April 2021 in New Jersey, and the first unit shot their scenes in August 2021 at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Longcross Studios in Surrey and Tropea are two examples. In Los Angeles, there were also shootings . All camera work was completed by May of 2022. Release date for The Marvels is set for November 10, 2023.

Captain America: New World Order (2024)
The news that a fourth Captain America movie was in the works was announced in April of 2021, and the script was penned by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The pair worked together on the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as the show’s head writer and a staff writer (2021). By August of that year, Anthony Mackie had signed on to star as Sam Wilson/Captain America again.In the next 2022 summer, Julius Onah will take the helm. The film will go into how Wilson’s transformation into Captain America has altered his life. Production at Atlanta’s Trilith Studios is set to begin in March 2023 and last through June of that year. The release date for Captain America: New World Order is set for May 3, 2024.
Thunderbolts (2024)
In June of 2022, Eric Pearson had been tapped to write the screenplay and Jake Schreier was attached to direct a Thunderbolts film. Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier/White Wolf), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/U.S. Agent), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova/Black Widow), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), and Olga Kurylenko (Antonia Dreykov/Task Production is set to kick off in Atlanta in June of 2023. The release date of Thunderbolts is set for July 26, 2024.
Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by Harrison Ford in Captain America: New World Order, will return.
Blade (2024)
After reclaiming the rights from New Line Cinema, Marvel Studios had a script for a new Blade film ready by May 2013. After his role as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes on Marvel’s Luke Cage, Mahershala Ali approached Marvel Studios in February 2019 about starring in a new film. In July of that year, at San Diego Comic-Con, Feige made the formal announcement that Ali would be playing Blade in the film. Ali’s first appearance as Blade was an uncredited voice cameo in the film Eternals (2021). The film’s writer, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, was hired in February 2021, while its director, Bassam Tariq, was hired in September of the same year. Tariq departed the film’s team a year later because of changes in the production and creative disputes. As Michael Starrbury was reworking the script in November, Yann Demange was attached as the director. Production on the film will launch in late April 2023 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, with additional locations in Cleveland, New Orleans, and Morocco. On September 6, 2024, Blade will finally hit shelves.
