Goose is a Flerken and was previously owned by Mar-Vell. After her owner’s demise, Goose accompanied Carol Danvers and Nick Fury on their space journey to locate Mar-Vell’s Laboratory. She played a crucial role in rescuing the surviving Skrull refugees and safeguarding the Tesseract from Starforce and Kree warriors. Goose was also the one who caused the permanent loss of vision in Fury’s left eye with her talons. Despite this incident, Fury chose to look after Goose when Danvers departed from Earth, but Goose was soon returned to Danvers’ custody.
Goose’s Adventures with Dr. Wendy Lawson on Earth
Goose met Dr. Wendy Lawson on Earth and liked her. Goose ate Lawson’s tuna with her tentacles, stunning him. Goose liked Lawson and lived with her. Goose preferred the view from Lawson’s fighter plane than being on the ground. Goose learned about Lawson’s Skrull aid.
Goose was taken to Edwards Air Force Base in 1989 and purred at Carol Danvers’ feet as she was enjoying the sky. Danvers pet Goose, and Wendy Lawson said Goose loved him and didn’t usually like humans.

After Wendy Lawson died, Goose was alone in the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility. She lay exhausted on the floor, frustrated Lawson would no longer feed her tuna. She ate a rat without knowing her owner had perished.

Vers and Nick Fury took Goose to the Rambeau Residence to see Maria Rambeau. Goose ate an alligator with her tentacles there. Goose purred as Monica patted Goose as Vers welcomed Rambeau and discovered her name was Carol Danvers. Goose received a chair, radio, shovel, TV, bowling ball, mailbox, propellor, iron board, table, light, sandwich, and rubber duck from Monica. Goose devoured everything, thrilling Rambeau. While Talos was fighting with Danvers and Fury, Goose approached him because she liked him, but he denied her, saying she was a Flerken and dangerous. Danvers and Fury laughed it off, thinking Goose was just a cat.
Journey to Space

They thought a Flerken might assist . Goose went to orbit with Carol Danvers, Maria Rambeau, Talos, and Nick Fury to discover the energy core. As Fury patted Goose, Talos cautioned him not to have her on his lap, but Fury joked that an alliance with Talos is just as hazardous and that he would have Goose by their side as long as she scared the Skrull. After arriving at Mar-Vell’s Laboratory, they learned the Light-Speed Engine came from the Tesseract. Goose explored the cube with her paw. To establish Goose’s Flerken status, Att-Lass scanned her after Starforce captured the ship. Goose was muzzled and taken to a tiny cage, aggravating her.Once Carol Danvers acquired full control of her abilities and fled, she sabotaged several ship electronics, freeing Goose and her comrades . Goose was grateful when Fury removed the muzzle.
Goose used her Flerken talents to swallow the Tesseract entire as Danvers told Nick Fury to remove it from the lunchbox and depart, shocking Danvers, Fury, and Maria Rambeau into believing Talos.Goose feared the Tesseract might disturb her rumbling tummy.During their journey to the hangar, Fury and Rambeau encountered four Kree troops, who Goose used her tentacles to attack and eat. They encountered another set of troops transporting Skrull detainees near the hangar. Fury held Goose in front of them and urged her to attack, but she didn’t. Fury discovered that Goose detected Talos’s Kree commander disguise, allowing him to murder all the Kree guards and board the Quadjet.
Blinding Nick Fury
Maria Rambeau piloted the Quadjet back to Earth, dogfighting Minn-Erva and shot her down. Goose unintentionally scratched his left eye while Nick Fury playedfully celebrated their Kree triumph, with Talos telling Fury that Goose’s scratch is not “just a scratch”. Fury lied about not minding the scrape, but it would blind him.

Personality
Mar-Vell says Goose doesn’t like most individuals she encounters. Later, she warms up to people that don’t hurt her. Goose can tell friends from adversaries since she sat close to disguised Kree soldier Talos, who the others thought was an adversary.
