ALL MARVEL MOVIES WILL BE RELEASED IN 2023

New Released

There are numerous Marvel movies in development between Marvel Studios, Sony and Fox. Here’s a list of all the movies you can expect to see in the next few years.

When people think of Marvel movies, they usually think of the MCU (no surprise, since the MCU has become the biggest movie franchise of all time and regularly dominates the international box office).

However, the MCU doesn’t include the many marvel movies that are slated for release in the coming years. Sony Pictures Entertainment still owns some of the rights to the Marvel characters, and while they currently have working relationships with Marvel and Disney, it’s unclear how their movies will tie into the MCU. Although there are almost weekly updates on Marvel movies from both studios. Here are the release dates for every Marvel movie on the big screen.

Here are all the details and release dates for Sony and MCU movies coming out in 2023 or later.

QUANTUMANIA, FEB. 17, 2023: ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be released on February 17, 2023 and we are looking forward to the highly anticipated third part. After Ant-Man and the Wasp, a third adventure has been announced for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). One of Marvel’s biggest news at SDCC 2022 is that Ant-Man 3 will be the first MCU movie.

Again, Jeff Lovins, Rick and Morty wrote the script and Peyton Reed directed. The film’s shooting ended in 2021, but an early 2023 release date is a sign of a pandemic-induced schedule change. Marvel’s iconic villain Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) makes his screen debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And the dwindling superhero population faces its biggest challenge yet. In the Ant-Man 3 trailer, majors can be seen sporting cartoonishly accurate purple and green metal armor.

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania video also showcases the state-of-the-art city and massive army built by Kang the Conqueror, giving viewers a longer look into the Quantum Realm. The main plot lines of the film have also been made public. Cassie Lang, whose updated version debuted in the teaser, creates a device to send a signal to the quantum realm and drags Cassie, Scott, Hope, Janet, and Hank into the realm in an attempt to reach out or help. Other lost souls The Ant-Man 3 trailer ends with Kang showing Scott. However, it is unclear what deals will entail. It also marked the first time Bill Murray’s MCU character was brought to the screen, although the film’s specific nemesis MODOK wasn’t depicted in the trailer

MAY 5, 2023: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.

Source: Polygon

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 has had a difficult production history, so Marvel updates have been spotty for years. Disney’s decision to fire filmmaker James Gunn after earlier obscene comments he made on Twitter is not the slightest setback. The decision to rehire Gunn came after strong support from fans and colleagues, but Warner Bros. Kidnap him to lead the Suicide Squad. Gunn then quickly moved on to Peacemaker TV. Due to these and other delays, filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 did not begin until the final months of 2021. But now Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has a trailer and a guaranteed May 5 2023 release date.

The premise of Guardians 3 is still unknown, but it should give viewers more insight into Rocket Raccoon’s past as well as Peter Quill dealing with Gamora, who doesn’t recognize him. Following an appearance in Guardians of Thor: Love and Thunder, the entire ensemble has been confirmed to be returning. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Two post-credits teases, Will Poulter finally brings Adam Warlock to the big screen, with Chukdi Iwuji playing Marvel Comics supervillain High Evolutionary.

ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE, SPIDER-MAN, JUNE 2, 2023

Source: The Illuminerdi

The next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will be released on June 2, 2023. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took longer to release than expected. Apart from developing the story, it took years to animate it. Fans aren’t too worried, as Sony has taken its time, especially on the graphics. One of the most beloved superhero movies of all time is due in part to the animation of Miles Morales’ debut. Before Into the Spider-Verse hit theaters, Sony Pictures announced that there would be a sequel.

There are few plot elements, but the teaser makes it clear that Gwen Stacy will visit Miles Morales’ planet to recruit him for another adventure in the Spider-Verse. But this time, Miles will be traveling to multiple parallel universes, and it also looks like Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) will play an important role. Sony has pushed back Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse from its original target of 2022 to summer 2023 to give animators more time to make sure the sequel lives up to its predecessor’s reputation. It’s rumored to have a Japanese Spider-Man in it, but Into the Spider-Verse 2 has already taken a pretty cool turn.

JULY 28, 2023: THE MARVELS

Source: The Dislnsider

The Marvels stand out among the upcoming Marvel movies as they are sequels to Disney+ series and MCU movies (even with characters becoming powerful superheroes in WandaVision). Captain Marvel’s first outing was a huge success. Although it didn’t become as famous as movies like Avengers: Endgame. So it’s no surprise that Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, will return in the film, which is set for release on July 28, 2023. In the sequel, Carol will team up with adults Monica Rambeau (Teyonna Paris) and Kamala Khan under the new title The Marvels (Imaan Vellani).

In the Ms. Marvel series on Disney+, Iman Vellani made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. Most notably, the Ms.Marvel post-credits scene in which Carol and Kamala Khan switch places, with Carol emerging confused in Kamala’s bedroom, laid a lot of groundwork for The Marvels in the Disney+ show. Monica Rambeau debuted her abilities in WandaVision, and in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, an alternate version of her mother Maria was Captain Marvel of Earth-838. The three of them will team up to take on Zawe Ashton’s unnamed antagonist. Nia DaCosta is on board as the director, and Megan McDonnell of WandaVision has been credited as the scriptwriter.

‘KRAVEN: THE HUNTER’ PREMIERES ON OCTOBER 6, 2023

Source: Bloody Disgusting

Kraven the Hunter is one of the upcoming Marvel films that isn’t part of the MCU. Another Spider-Man villain movie is on the way from Sony Pictures, following in the footsteps of Venom and Morbius. Kraven’s involvement in Sony’s planned Sinister Six film has not been confirmed. Kraven was a key player on the bad guys’ team, so it seems likely. In 2018, the concept of the one-man film was first discussed. Scripted by Richard Wenk, it was revised by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway before release in 2020. After that, talks began with J.C. Chandor to direct the movie.

In the months that followed, news of any possible progress was scarce. In May of 2021, however, production took a giant leap forward when Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast in the title role of Kraven. Several preview trailers and short clips of early footage have been made available since then. With Aaron Taylor-previous Johnson’s MCU turn as Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff, there have been questions about the film’s potential place in Sony’s Spider-Man universes and the wider MCU’s multiverse. The film is scheduled for release on October 6, 2023.

TO BE RELEASED ON MAY 3, 2024: CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER.

Source: Nerdist

Sam Wilson’s big screen debut as Captain America, titled Captain America: New World Order, is scheduled for May 3, 2024. The next Captain America film will continue the story begun in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, while also referencing other MCU films and TV shows. Anthony Mackie is returning to play Sam Wilson, and Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is returning to direct. As Sam Wilson’s first solo movie as the new Cap in the MCU, Captain America: New World Order is a landmark event for the character.

However, the most eye-catching fact about the upcoming fourth Captain America film is that Harrison Ford will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut as General “Thunderbolt” Ross, taking over for the late, great William Hurt, who played the role from MCU Phase 1 until his untimely death in 2022. Little else has been disclosed about “Thunderbolt” Ross’s role in Captain America: New World Order, but news that Harrison Ford will be taking over for William Hurt as Han Solo has reignited speculation that Red Hulk will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

MAY 2, 2025, AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY

Source: Wiki Of Nerds

The next instalment of the Avengers franchise won’t hit theatres until 2025. As the second-to-last film of Phase 6, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will wrap up the entire multiverse saga. It’s likely that The Kang Dynasty will serve as the first half of a two-part crossover event, much like how Infinity War did (the second half being Avengers: Secret Wars). Of course, at this point in time, we know next to nothing about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty other than the fact that Kang the Conqueror will serve as the MCU’s Thanos replacement. After playing one of Kang’s variants, He Who Remains, in the first season of Loki, Jonathan Majors’ future as the MCU Kang is all but assured.

MAY 1, 2026, FOR AVENGERS: SECRET WARS

Source: The Direct

In May of 2026, audiences will be able to see the second new Avengers film. A year and a half after Fantastic Four, phase six will conclude with the long-awaited multiverse-spanning movie Avengers: Secret Wars, which will undoubtedly outdo Endgame in scope. It will likely take inspiration from both Secret Wars (1984) and Secret Wars (2015), but put its own spin on the Secret Wars Battleworld idea. No official casting announcements have been made as of yet, but there are plenty of educated and uninformed guesses about who might show up in the MCU Secret Wars adaptation when Avengers: Secret Wars premieres in 2026.

THUNDERBOLTS (JULY 26, 2024)

Source: Times of India

The Thunderbolts movie, which has been in development with Black Widow writer Eric Pearson scripting, was rumoured to have Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank) attached to direct it in June of 2022. Usually, the Thunderbolts are depicted as a villainous group in the comics. Phase 5 of the MCU will conclude with the release of Thunderbolts on July 26, 2024, as announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Kevin Feige announced the cast at D23 a few months later: Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour as the Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, Wyatt Russell as the US Agent, Olga Kurylenko as the Taskmaster, Florence Pugh as Black Widow, Yelena Belova as Winter Soldier, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky/Winter Soldier.

DEADPOOL 3 – NOVEMBER 8, 2024

Source: The Direct

A third instalment of Deadpool will be released in theatres on November 8th, 2024.
Disney, the company that recently acquired Deadpool’s rights, has stated unequivocally that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is where the character will next appear in his own standalone film. Deadpool 3 is scheduled for release on November 8, 22nd, and will feature Ryan Reynolds’ return as the Merc With a Mouth. Not only that, but Reynolds has already confirmed that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine/Logan in Deadpool 3, so the infamous Weapon-X survivors will finally make their way to the MCU, and both will have their iconic fan-favorite faces from the Fox universe. Since Disney’s purchase of Fox, Deadpool 3 has been the only X-Men film to be officially announced.

BLADE (SEPTEMBER 6, 2024)

Source: The Illuminerdi

Starring Mahershala Ali, Blade is coming back to theatres. Nothing more has been revealed about Ali’s Blade besides a brief voice cameo in Eternals. At SDCC 2022, Marvel announced November 3, 2023, as the release date. Since then, however, the film’s release date has been pushed back to September 6, 2024, allegedly because Ali was unhappy with the script and director Bassam Tariq left the project.

FANTASTIC FOUR (FEBRUARY 14, 2025)

Source: The Digital Weekly

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that the X-Men and Fantastic Four would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the future. While nothing further has been confirmed about the X-Men, in a Disney investors call in December 2020, Feige did confirm that Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man 1-3, was working on a Fantastic Four film. In April of 2022, however, it was announced that Watts would no longer be involved with the film, prompting the search for a replacement director.

Fantastic Four will kick off Phase 5 of the MCU on November 8, 2024, following the events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, as was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. The original date of October 20, 2024 has been pushed back to February 14, 2025.
